Characteristics
Krantz aloe (Aloe arborescens) is a large shrubby South African succulent that forms branching clumps of rosettes of toothed grey-green leaves. In winter it bears spikes of orange-red tubular flowers, loved by birds. It wants full sun, well-drained mineral soil and little water, and is fairly hardy for an aloe. It reaches 1-3 metres.

Practical tips
Water needs: bassa — always check soil moisture before watering.
Prefers pieno sole: provide the right light and rotate the plant for even growth.
Recommended soil: drenante minerale. Refresh the substrate every 1-2 years.
Dust the leaves with a damp cloth to support photosynthesis.
Feed during the growing season (spring-summer) and stop in winter.
