Characteristics
The poppy anemone (Anemone coronaria) is a Mediterranean tuberous plant with showy poppy-like flowers in red, blue, purple, pink or white with a dark centre, blooming in spring from autumn-planted tubers. It wants full sun or part shade and fertile, well-drained soil. It makes an excellent cut flower. All parts are toxic and irritant. It stays low, 20-40 cm.
